How to convert text to PDF online
A practical guide, from the first click to a result you can use.
- Write or paste plain text.
Add your draft to the editor. Keep paragraph breaks where you want them; rich text styles are not imported. You can use the example to explore the composer, then replace it with your words.
- Choose the layout your document needs.
Choose A4, US Letter or Legal; portrait or landscape; margins from 12 to 25 mm; and a font size from 10 to 16 pt. Use the layout sketch to see the page proportions and margin choice.
- Download and check the finished PDF.
Select Download PDF. Lines wrap automatically and long text continues onto numbered pages. Open pdftextflow-document.pdf in a PDF reader to check layout, page breaks and special characters. Adjust the settings and download again if needed.
For a document you will share or print, read the downloaded file once before sending it. Layout choices change the number of pages; text alone does not predict the final breaks.
Extract and edit text from a PDF with PDF to TextChoose a page that suits the text
A4 is a useful general document size; US Letter suits common US printing; Legal provides a taller page. Portrait favors letters and reading. Landscape gives longer lines more horizontal room, but it is still a plain-text layout rather than a table editor.
Margins reserve space around the content on every page. Narrow 12 mm margins fit more text; standard 20 mm margins give comfortable reading space; wide 25 mm margins leave more room for the page to breathe. A larger font means fewer words per line and usually more pages.
Wrapping, paragraphs and page breaks
Text wraps within the available width, including long unbroken strings. Newlines start new lines and blank lines add space. When the page fills, the next line continues on a new page; page numbers are added at the bottom.
The layout sketch shows page proportions and settings, not a live rendering, page-count estimate or guarantee of line breaks. The downloaded PDF is the authoritative result. The composer does not add headings, bold styles, images or Word formatting.
Characters and custom fonts
The included Noto Sans font covers many Latin accents, Greek and Cyrillic characters. It does not cover every Unicode character. Before writing the file, generation checks that the font contains the characters in your text and the page-number symbols; missing glyphs produce an error instead of silent boxes.
Use Unicode font to choose a compatible TTF or OTF file up to 15 MB. It is embedded into the PDF, so readers can use the included font. The custom font stays in your browser. A corrupt or unsupported font produces a recoverable error; choose another font or reset to Noto Sans.
A font having the characters does not guarantee every complex script is shaped correctly. Verify Arabic, Indic or other complex-script output with your chosen font in a reader before sharing it.
Fix output that is not what you expected
If a document is blank, check that the input contains real text rather than whitespace. If it is too long, remove accidental blank lines or choose smaller type and narrower margins. Keep text within 250,000 characters and output within 500 pages.
- Missing-character error: choose a font that covers the exact scripts and symbols you use.
- Font failed to load: restore the connection for the included local font asset, or choose a valid custom font and retry.
- Unexpected breaks: check newlines and page settings. The PDF is plain text; source word-processor styling does not transfer.
- Apparent clipping in a previewer: open the download in another PDF reader and check the chosen paper dimensions before printing.

Answers for your next conversion.
How do I convert text to PDF online free with no signup?
Type or paste plain text into the editor, choose your page and font settings, then select Download PDF. The file is generated in your browser, and no account or signup is required.
Can I create a multi-page PDF from long text?
Yes. Long lines wrap to the page width, paragraphs continue onto new pages, and page numbers are added. The limit is 250,000 characters and 500 generated pages.
Can I choose page size, orientation, margins, and font?
Choose A4, Letter, or Legal paper; portrait or landscape; a uniform page margin; and a font size. Noto Sans is included. You can upload a TTF or OTF font up to 15 MB if it contains the characters your text needs.
Is my text uploaded or stored?
No. Your text and any optional font file are processed in your browser. PDFTextFlow does not receive or store them.
Does the tool preserve rich formatting or export Word files?
The converter accepts plain text and creates a PDF with line wrapping, paragraph spacing, and page numbers. It does not preserve rich text styling or export Word documents.
Will accented characters and non-English scripts render?
Noto Sans supports many accented, Greek and Cyrillic characters, but not every script or symbol. Generation checks the selected font for missing characters and explains when a compatible font is needed. Complex script shaping still needs verification in a PDF reader; universal Unicode support is not promised.
How can I fix an unexpectedly long or cramped PDF?
Check blank lines, paper size, orientation, margins and font size. A larger font or wider margins leaves less space per page. Remove accidental blank lines or adjust the layout, then download a new file. The layout sketch is a guide, not an exact PDF preview.
